What should I do when they’re ready to enroll in Medicare?

1. Gather a list of their preferred doctors and medications

With this information, we can ensure that the plans we evaluate align with your loved one’s specific health care needs, enabling us to provide you with personalized recommendations tailored to their unique situation.

2. 5-Minute Phone Assessment Call

RetireMed for your initial phone assessment. In this brief phone call, we'll collect key pieces of information (such as date of birth, location, and doctors and medications) that will help us research Medicare plan options in your area.

3. Get scheduled for your Medicare appointment

During this appointment, you and your family member will speak one-on-one with a benefit advisor who will review the research we conducted and show you several Medicare plan options that fit their needs. Additionally, we provide assistance with the enrollment process from start to finish.

How to help a family member switch to a different Medicare plan.

Perhaps your family member already has Original Medicare (Parts A and B), or Original Medicare and a stand-alone prescription drug plan (Part D), but would like to consider switching to a Medicare Advantage plan (Part C). Or maybe they are already on a Medicare Advantage plan and you’d like to explore other Medicare Advantage plans. Our advisors can compare their options and explain when they can make these types of changes, such as during Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period, Oct. 15 – Dec. 7 each year. Learn more about enrollment periods here.
